Con buona pace dei Cohen, l’originale è inarrivabile per il loro remake, e Tom Hanks una pallida parodia del geniale Alec Guinness. Che poi oltre a lui ci sono Peter Sellers, Herbert Lom, Danny Green e Cecil Parker, oltre all’adorabile rompiscatole, Katie Johnson. Una commedia nera inarrivabile, british fino al midollo, un cast eccezionale, bellissima fotografia. Insomma, una commedia fondamentale, soprattutto se si è visto solo lo scialbo remake. Il film è uscito da poco in accoppiata BR e DVD, qualità eccezionale. Demenziale (ma perché sorprendersi) il titolo italiano.

Each time one of the gang members is killed, the arrangement of the music changes from quintet to quartet to trio etc, as if it is being played only by the surviving members of the gang.
